This tutorial shows you how to install and setup AWS CLI (command line utility) tool.
Step 1: Install the AWS CLI tools
Ubuntu and Debian
apt install awscli
Fedora and CentOS 8
dnf install awscli
CentOS 7 and Scientific Linux
yum install awscli
Step 2: Generate the Access Keys
- Login into AWS Security Credentials
- Expand option the Access keys (access key ID and secret access key)
- Click the button “Create New Access Key”
- Copy the access key ID and secret access key
Step 3: Setup and Configure AWS CLI tools
Run the following command.
Then follow the prompts for yourAWS Access Key ID and Secret Access Key.
Step 4: Test AWS CLI tools
Access AWS help
List all the instances
aws ec2 describe-instances
List instances from other zone
aws ec2 describe-instances --region=us-west-1
List S3 buckets
aws s3 list
